Making Best Use of the Theme

Background

When I first developed the GregCustom theme. I shared it with the WonderCMS community and on Nov 16, 2024 it was added to those officially supported. These days anyone installing the WonderCMS package will find it listed on the Themes page of the Admin Modal, which appears after you login.

The page reporting the Choice of Themes available explains that GregCustom was designed for use by those looking for a theme that would support larger sites than most of the other WonderCMS themes and who are not intimidated by the HTML tags, seen when using the Default Editor. That's important because many of the features built into the theme rely on adding various attributes to those tags and typically these will be over-ridden if you chicken out and use Summernote to edit a page.

Demystifying HTML

In fact, given that WonderCMS does all the hard work in the background no one ought to find it too difficult to understand how to insert appropriate HTML tags around the content to be added to the site. The pages in the links below are intended to help overcome any fears that exist.

By the time you've absorbed the information on them you'll be ready to download the "resources" folder, found within the GregCustom theme directory, and study its contents, in particular the ReadMe.txt file. It includes code that provides three more colour schemes, sample header images and full descriptions of all the special classes available and the tags to which they can be applied.

Assuming there is a decision that entering HTML tags does not represent the problem of understanding once thought, then all that remains is to find the best tool to assist in entering them. That's where picking the right editor comes in. If you're only used to Windows Notepad I sympathise. I have one more page to which to direct you. (Coming Soon!)
