When recording videos on my phone I discovered it didn't react when I plugged in an external microphone. I'd even bought a second, more expensive, cordless one thinking my original cheap one was faulty.

The instructions for the second microphone suggested an alternative camera app was needed. This article describes the app I installed and what it taught me about phone cameras.

Winterton Dunes Walking Around Winterton-on-Sea

Back in October 2025, we moved from our home of a dozen years at Ruston House in East Ruston to a rebuilt derelict farm labourer's cottage at Winterton-on-Sea.

Our new home village is a little further the other side of the small Norfolk town of Stalham. While unpacking went quickly enough, finding a new home for many or our goods took time but with everything now with a place it's become a Saturday habit to walk down to the local Post Office and take breakfast or a light lunch there.

We often visit our granddaughter who lives with her Mum in Sale and stay for a few days in a cottage that was probably built in the 1770s and sits on the towpath of the Bridgewater Canal at Preston Brook.

After time on FidoNet I got my first Internet account in 1997 and started to build web sites. This was the first I created. I thought it might amuse those with long memories. It's very much a site of its time, only working at all well on desktop computers with 800x600px screens. The only thing I've changed is the case of the image files. Back then Internet Explorer wasn't fussy. Don't expect any of the external links to work!
